# How Threadly Prevents Impersonation

For security and privacy purposes, messages sent with the Threadly bot ([and not messages sent as you](https://threadly.gitbook.io/threadly/how-threadly-sends-your-messages)) include your actual name as a signature to prevent impersonation within your organization. This is done regardless of the profile photo and name (learn more about [customizing your message's profile photo and name](https://threadly.gitbook.io/threadly/profiles/overview).)

In the example below, the user "Zev" is sending a message with the profile name of "Jake." In order for users to know the message's origin, it will say "Sent by @Zev" at the bottom.

On the free plan, your message will also indicate it was sent with Threadly.
{% endhint %}
