# How to Create a Link CTA

Create a Link CTA button in Threadly: set the label, URL and color, and optionally get notified when someone clicks.

You can create a Link CTA while writing a message, or ahead of time.

**While writing a message:** in the message editor, expand **Actions** and click **🔗 Add CTA**.

**Ahead of time:** on the Home tab, under **Actions**, click **CTAs**, then **🌐 Create Link Action**.

Then:

1. Enter the **label**, which is the text on the button.
2. Enter the **URL**. It must start with `https://`.
3. Choose a **color**: **Standard** (default), **Primary** (green) or **Danger** (red).
4. Optionally, on Pro, choose people to notify in real time when someone clicks.
5. Click **Create Action**.

Threadly checks that your link loads. If it can't verify the URL, you'll be asked to confirm it's correct before saving. In the message preview, a button with an invalid URL shows a warning and won't be sent.

To turn a CTA off, open it from **CTAs** and click **Deactivate Action**.
